ABOUT RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
The Ruaha National Park is a hidden gem and one of the world's most pristine wildlife havens and a true African wilderness. An hour and a half flight by light aircraft from Dar es Salam, The LABA Jongomero camp provides a truly off-the-beaten-track African adventure as if one of its first explorers. The safari experience is in beautiful contrast to the more crowded national parks, in a landscape of incomparable beauty with millennial baobabs and forests of large acacia trees. The months of June and July are a veritable African Eden, where multiple species of wildlife rub shoulders, from elephant to mongoose.
The best time to visit the Ruaha National Park is during the dry season from June to October which coincides with the main safari season in East Africa. It is the perfect safari destination for anyone who loves to explore away from the crowds and into the heart of Africa. Your personal chef offers fresh and delicious cuisine served al fresco on the manor terrace with breathtaking views, under the shade of the trees or dine under the starts by the riverbed. Opt for cocktails at sunset or indulge in the spa menu by Healing Earth.
SAFARI EXPERIENCES
As one of the most remote tourist destinations in Tanzania, the Ruaha National Park is one of the least visited, giving an exclusive feel with low numbers of game vehicle traffic and a step back in time to when nature was immaculate. Choose from a 4x4 Safari Experience with personal guide visiting a wide range of local landscapes and wildlife to discover elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, giraffe and zebra, or a Walking Safari to fully immerse in the surrounding nature. For the more experienced explorer, a Tracking Safari inspired by past hunting techniques gets up close with lion and elephant and a day-long safari trip observes the impressive buffalo herds in central Ruaha. A Night Safari is an exciting time to observe nocturnal porcupine, bush baby, the white-tailed mongoose and even the elusive aardvark. There are not many naturally wild places like this left in our world.
