LABA LABA Adventure

 

Plateau team members travelled to Tanzania to experience a scripted journey through LABA LABA safari camps with a few days of relaxation at LABA Fanjove island. 

 

LABA SIWANDU

An exceptional lakeside safari experience in the Nyerere National Park, Siwandu offers the best of both water and land with all the luxuries that define LABA LABA. Accommodation: At LABA Siwandu, each of the 13 spacious tented suites of around 95sqm rests on a wooden deck and is covered by a magnificent Makuti thatched roof. The decked terrace faces Lake Nzerakera and features charming details such as a freestanding copper bathtub, open-air zellige-tiled shower, a lounge, dining table and a great viewpoint to the surrounding wildlife. LABA JONGOMERO

Home to the greatest elephant population, the remote location of Jongomero in Ruaha National Park is where nature remains vibrant and untouched, meaning the safari experience is in beautiful contrast to the more crowded national parks and a hot air balloon adventure is now available. Nestling on the seasonal Jongomero River, comforts are luxurious in the stilted tented suites and delicious cuisine is served al fresco in the shade of century-old trees. Guests can unwind by the pool, soak in the nearby volcanic hot springs or indulge in the wellness spa menu by Healing Earth, followed by signature cocktails at sunset. LABA JONGOMERO PRIVATE BUSH MANOR

A decadent new addition to the Jongomero Camp in a remote corner of Ruaha National Park, The Private Bush Manor provides a luxurious exclusive-use villa for a group of four to eight guests with spacious living and indulgent tented suites. Home to the greatest elephant population, a magnificent variety of safari experiences and diverse landscapes create an incredible African adventure, combined with the comforts of authentic cuisine al fresco and relaxation in volcanic hot springs. Inspired by ‘Out of Africa’, the ornately carved wooden doors open straight into the heart of this exquisite bush manor with spacious living and luxurious tented suites.

Accommodation: Situated on the bank of the Jongomero River, the manor provides the perfect outlook to observe elephant, kudus and baboon from the spacious relaxation area of the wooden terrace. This private bush manor is composed of two 90sqm comfortable tented suites, connected to a spacious living room by covered passageways. Comforts are luxurious is detail, from four-poster bed and bone-inlaid furniture to antique silk carpets and beautiful freestanding brass bathtubs. Two additional tented suites of 89sqm can be connected to the main bush manor for groups of eight guests.

 

LABA FANJOVE ISLAND

An exclusive private island escape with white sandy beach, crested with crystal clear turquoise water and vibrant coral reefs, where the rhythm of life is dictated by the tides and the sun. Fanjove is the smallest of one of six islands in the Songo Songo Archipelago, with just sixteen ocean facing beach villas made with natural materials. There are 12 Beach Villas of 132sqm which can fit an extra child bed and the one and only Villa 16 nestled between coral rocks with direct access to a little beach. There are 18 accommodations with 21 rooms in total, each built facing the ocean using natural, local materials such as teak flooring from Tanzanian plantations, traditional makuti thatched roofs and walls in local coral stone, doors are sculpted by Zanzibar craftsmen, while interior walls are made of palm. All bathrooms feature an indoor and an open-air shower with the addition of a signature copper bathtub in the Coral Manor.

 

LABA MIGRATION CAMP

The new LABA Migration Camp is the most luxurious in the Serengeti, home to the Big Five as well as many other species.
